Why we ask about Education, Training and Employment

Education, training and employment questions are asked to identify the person’s skills, experience, interests and future goals and provide relevant information such that we can support them to pursue their achievable goals which will promote self-esteem, personal growth, personal development and more meaningful use of time. Issues such as literacy, accessing educational programmes and suitability for particular programmes can be discussed as well as what goals the person has in terms of employment to inform the care plan with strategies to help the Service User reintegrate back into the community, and to feel valued and independent.
